- Develop and implement recreational therapy programs for patients to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Conduct assessments of patients' needs and interests to tailor individualized treatment plans.
- Lead therapeutic activities such as art, music, sports, and other recreational activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to incorporate recreational therapy into patients' overall treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on the benefits and purpose of recreational therapy.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients to participate in recreational activities.
- Stay current on developments and best practices in recreational therapy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to recreational therapy.
- Utilize effective time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks within designated timelines.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to expand recreational therapy services for patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy Or Related Field
Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs)
Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In Recreational Therapy In A Healthcare Setting
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Therapeutic Recreation Interventions And Techniques
Familiarity With State And Federal Regulations Related To Therapeutic Recreation And Healthcare Facilities.
