- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to inform the public about state initiatives and programs.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the state, responding to media inquiries and preparing press releases.
- Create and distribute informational materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and social media content, to promote state initiatives and programs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other state agencies and departments to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception of state initiatives and programs, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Plan and execute public events and campaigns to engage and educate the public.
- Maintain a strong understanding of state policies, procedures, and regulations to accurately communicate information to the public.
- Assist in crisis communication efforts, providing timely and accurate information to the public during emergencies or critical situations.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and other key partners to promote state initiatives and programs.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public information and make recommendations for improvement.
- Train and mentor junior staff members and interns in public information practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, writers, and other communication professionals to create visually appealing and impactful materials.
- Represent the state at public events and meetings, delivering presentations and speeches to various audiences.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations related to public information and communication.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on communication efforts and their impact on the public.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or A Related Field.
Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Convey Information To Diverse Audiences.
Familiarity With Media Relations And Experience In Creating Press Releases, Media Pitches, And Managing Media Inquiries.
Knowledge Of Social Media Platforms And Experience In Developing And Implementing Social Media Campaigns.
Ability To Work Under Tight Deadlines And Handle Multiple Projects Simultaneously, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
