Welcome to the State of New York's Department of Parks and Recreation! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Park Manager 2.   • Oversee the day-to-day operations and management of a designated state park
  • Ensure a welcoming and positive experience for all visitors to the park
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to promote conservation and recreation within the park
  • Manage park staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
  • Monitor and manage park budget and resources effectively
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to address any issues or concerns related to the park
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and improvements within the park
  • Enforce park rules and regulations to ensure the safety of visitors and protection of natural resources
  • Plan and execute special events and programs to engage and educate the community about the park
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the park is well-maintained and in compliance with all regulations
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in park management
  • Serve as a representative of the park and the Department of Parks and Recreation at meetings and events.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Parks And Recreation Management, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Park Management, Including Experience Managing Staff And Budgets.

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Park Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Staff, Visitors, And Stakeholders.

  • Strong Leadership And Problem-Solving Abilities To Oversee Daily Operations And Address Any Issues That May Arise.
