Welcome to the State of New York's Department of Parks and Recreation! We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Park Manager 1. As the Park Manager, you will have the opportunity to oversee and maintain one of our beautiful state parks, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all visitors.   1. Oversee and maintain the operations of one of our state parks, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to preserve and enhance the natural beauty and resources of the park.
  3. Manage and supervise park staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate events, activities, and maintenance projects.
  5. Monitor and manage park budget, including forecasting and allocating funds for necessary improvements and repairs.
  6. Communicate effectively with visitors, staff, and stakeholders to provide information, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
  7. Enforce park rules and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of the park to identify any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
  9. Develop and implement emergency response plans in case of natural disasters or other emergencies.
  10. Stay informed about current trends, issues, and regulations related to park management and make recommendations for improvement.
  11. Serve as a representative of the park and the department at community events and meetings.
  12. Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance and support to park staff.
  13. Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to promote the park and increase visitor engagement.
  14. Maintain accurate records and reports on park operations, including attendance, revenue, and maintenance logs.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities to improve park operations and visitor experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Parks And Recreation, Natural Resource Management, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Park Management Or A Similar Role.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Park Operations And Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders.

  • Strong Leadership And Problem-Solving Abilities, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team.
