- Ensure the safety and well-being of park and beach visitors by closely monitoring and responding to any potential hazards or emergencies.
- Conduct regular inspections of designated swimming areas to identify and address any safety concerns.
- Enforce all rules and regulations related to water safety and usage, and educate visitors on proper swimming techniques and potential risks.
- Maintain constant communication with park staff and other lifeguards to coordinate emergency responses and provide updates on any potential hazards.
- Stay up-to-date on all lifeguarding certifications and participate in regular training to maintain skills and knowledge.
- Conduct equipment checks and ensure all necessary supplies are readily available for use.
- Act as a positive role model for park visitors by demonstrating strong swimming skills, professionalism, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist with first aid and CPR when necessary, and properly document all incidents and report them to park management.
- Collaborate with park management to develop and implement emergency action plans and risk management strategies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and assist with general park maintenance tasks as needed.
Must Be At Least 16 Years Old And Possess A Valid Lifeguard Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Red Cross Or Ymca.
Strong Swimming Skills And Physical Fitness, Including The Ability To Swim A Minimum Of 300 Yards Continuously And Retrieve A 10-Pound Object From A Depth Of 10 Feet.
Knowledge Of First Aid And Cpr Techniques, Including The Ability To Perform Rescue Breathing And Use An Aed.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Calmly And Effectively Handle Emergency Situations And Communicate With Patrons Of All Ages And Backgrounds.
Demonstrated Experience In Water Safety And Rescue Techniques, With A Thorough Understanding Of Pool And Beach Safety Protocols And The Ability To Enforce Rules And Regulations To Ensure The Safety Of All Swimmers.
