Lcsw License: Candidates Must Hold A Valid And Current Lcsw License Issued By The New York State Education Department. This Requires Passing The National Aswb Clinical Level Examination And Completing At Least 3,000 Hours Of Supervised Clinical Experience.
Knowledge Of New York State Laws And Regulations: The Lcsw Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Laws, Regulations, And Ethical Standards Governing Social Work Practice In The State Of New York.
Experience In Clinical Social Work: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Providing Clinical Social Work Services, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Mental Health Setting. This Experience Should Include Conducting Assessments, Developing Treatment Plans, And Providing Therapy To Individuals, Families, And Groups.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Lcsws Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills In Order To Effectively Work With Clients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Also Be Able To Document And Maintain Accurate Records Of Their Work.
