As the Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our state by developing and implementing effective strategies for responding to and mitigating potential incidents.   1. Develop and implement strategies for incident management to ensure the safety and security of the State of New York.
  2. Lead and manage the Incident Management Unit, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  3. Oversee the coordination and response to potential incidents, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other crises.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to incidents.
  5. Monitor and evaluate incident response procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of incident management best practices and incorporate them into the unit's operations.
  7. Communicate with stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and the public, to provide updates and address concerns related to incident management.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including emergency management agencies, law enforcement, and first responders.
  9. Prepare and manage the unit's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  10. Develop and implement training programs for staff and other stakeholders on incident management protocols and procedures.
  11. Analyze data and reports to identify trends and potential areas for improvement in incident management.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to incident management.
  13. Respond to and resolve any issues or concerns related to incident management.
  14. Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and participate in press conferences and other public outreach efforts.
  15. Continuously assess and adapt incident management strategies and procedures to ensure the most effective and efficient response to incidents.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Emergency Management Or Incident Management

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Emergency Management Policies And Procedures

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Work With Multiple Stakeholders

  • Certification In Incident Management, Such As Ics-300 And Ics-400, Preferred
