Job Description

This role is crucial in ensuring that children with developmental delays receive the necessary support and services to reach their full potential. As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families.   1. Conduct developmental screenings and assessments to identify children in need of early intervention services.
  2. Develop individualized service plans for children with developmental delays, in collaboration with their families and other service providers.
  3. Coordinate and monitor the delivery of early intervention services to ensure they align with established goals and objectives.
  4. Provide ongoing support and guidance to families of children with developmental delays, including connecting them with necessary community resources.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all early intervention services provided.
  6. Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and educators, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for children.
  7. Stay current on best practices and research in the field of early childhood development to inform service delivery.
  8. Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  9. Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and community partners to ensure a collaborative and coordinated approach to early intervention services.
  10. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and policies related to early intervention services.
  11. Advocate for the needs of children with developmental delays and their families within the larger community.
  12. Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of early intervention services and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes for children.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with families and colleagues.
  14. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude in all aspects of the job, representing the State of New York in a favorable manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Young Children And Families In A Special Education Or Social Services Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Early Childhood Development And Understanding Of Developmental Disabilities And Delays.

  • Experience With Conducting Assessments, Developing Individualized Education Plans (Ieps), And Providing Interventions For Young Children.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Families, Educators, And Other Professionals In A Team-Based Approach.
