- Operate drilling rig equipment safely and efficiently under the guidance of experienced Drill Rig Operators.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while on the job site.
- Assist in the daily set-up, operation, and maintenance of drilling rig equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as greasing and changing oil, on drilling rig equipment.
- Learn and understand the various types of drilling methods and techniques used in different geological settings.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.
- Keep accurate records of drilling activities, including location, depth, and type of material drilled.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.
- Follow all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to drilling operations.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to learning and improving in the role.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safe and efficient operations.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Education Is Typically Required For A Drill Rig Operator / Trainee 1 / Trainee 2 Job At The State Of New York. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Academic Subjects Such As Math, Science, And Technical Skills.
Relevant Training Or Certification: Candidates Should Have Completed Formal Training Or Have Certification In Operating And Maintaining Drill Rigs. This Could Include Programs Or Courses In Heavy Equipment Operation, Drilling Techniques, Safety Procedures, And Maintenance.
