  1. Serve as a knowledgeable and reliable resource for the State of New York's Disaster Preparedness Program.
  2. Communicate and promote disaster preparedness initiatives to individuals, families, and communities.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and community leaders to enhance disaster preparedness efforts.
  4. Coordinate and facilitate disaster preparedness trainings, workshops, and events for the public.
  5. Prepare and distribute educational materials and resources related to disaster preparedness.
  6. Develop and implement disaster preparedness plans and strategies for various potential disasters.
  7. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in communities.
  8. Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure coordination and cooperation during emergencies.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  10. Provide support and guidance to individuals and families in developing personal disaster preparedness plans.
  11. Maintain accurate records and reports on disaster preparedness activities and initiatives.
  12. Stay updated on current disaster preparedness trends, resources, and best practices.
  13. Act as a liaison between the community and government agencies during disaster response and recovery efforts.
  14. Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries and concerns from the public regarding disaster preparedness.
  15. Represent the Disaster Preparedness Program at various meetings, events, and conferences.
  16. Continuously evaluate and improve disaster preparedness efforts to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
