- Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall operations of developmental disabilities programs throughout the state of New York.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all developmental disabilities programs, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including individuals with developmental disabilities, families, staff, and community partners, to identify and address their needs and concerns.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for developmental disabilities programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient use of resources.
- Provide leadership and guidance to program managers and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Foster positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and promote community integration for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Identify and implement best practices and evidence-based interventions to improve program outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on developments and trends in the field of developmental disabilities to inform program planning and decision-making.
- Serve as a liaison between state agencies, local governments, and other organizations to support the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to developmental disabilities programs.
- Develop and maintain systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting to track program progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to recruit, train, and retain qualified staff for developmental disabilities programs.
- Represent the State of New York at meetings, conferences, and other events related to developmental disabilities programs.
- Continuously assess and identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the quality of services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Social Work, Psychology, Or Special Education.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role Within The Developmental Disabilities Field.
Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Developmental Disabilities Services.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Staff, Clients, And Community Partners.
Experience With Budget Planning And Fiscal Management In A Government Or Non-Profit Setting.
