- Develop and maintain actuarial models and tools to analyze and forecast risks and losses.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of actuarial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improving insurance operations.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the state's insurance operations.

- Lead and mentor a team of actuaries, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Participate in high-level discussions and decision-making processes related to insurance policies and programs.
- Communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the state's insurance operations and make suggestions for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the state to ensure a cohesive approach to insurance operations.
- Represent the state in external meetings and conferences related to actuarial matters.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all matters related to casualty insurance within the state.
- Continuously assess and improve actuarial processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Extensive Experience In Actuarial Science: A Chief Casualty Actuary 2 At State Of New York Should Have A Strong Background And At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Actuarial Science, Particularly In The Area Of Casualty Insurance.
Advanced Knowledge Of Insurance Principles And Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess In-Depth Knowledge Of Insurance Principles And Practices, With A Focus On Casualty Lines Of Business.
Actuarial Credentials: The Candidate Should Hold A Fellowship Designation From The Casualty Actuarial Society (Cas) Or An Equivalent Qualification From A Recognized Actuarial Organization.
