  1. Conduct audits of taxpayers to ensure compliance with state taxation laws and regulations.
  2. Analyze financial data and documents to identify discrepancies and potential areas of non-compliance.
  3. Prepare detailed audit reports and recommendations for corrective action.
  4. Collaborate with a team of professionals to complete audit projects and meet deadlines.
  5. Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations and apply this knowledge in audit processes.
  6. Conduct interviews and gather information from taxpayers and their representatives.

  8. Maintain accurate and organized records of audit findings and follow-up actions.
  9. Communicate effectively with taxpayers, colleagues, and superiors to present audit findings and recommendations.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve audit processes and procedures.
  11. Ensure confidentiality and security of taxpayer information.
  12. Train and mentor junior auditors in audit techniques and procedures.
  13. Represent the State of New York in a professional and ethical manner.
  14. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all audit tasks.
  15. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in auditing and taxation practices.
