
Associate Librarian (NY HELPS)

- Develop and implement strategies to promote the NY HELPS program and increase participation from the community.
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons by assisting them with finding resources and information, conducting research, and answering questions.
- Collaborate with other library staff to plan and execute events and programs related to literacy and education.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the resources and services offered by the library, and effectively communicate this information to patrons.
- Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons, ensuring that their needs are met and their questions are answered.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and developments in the library and education fields, and incorporate this knowledge into program planning and service delivery.
- Assist in the selection and maintenance of library materials, ensuring that the collection is diverse, relevant, and accessible to all patrons.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics related to program participation and usage, and use this data to inform future planning.
- Act as a liaison between the library and community organizations, schools, and other institutions to promote collaboration and partnerships.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the NY HELPS program to ensure that it meets the needs and interests of the community.
Master's Degree In Library Science From An Ala-Accredited Program.
Minimum Of Three Years Of Experience Working In A Library, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role.
Strong Knowledge Of Library Principles, Practices, And Technologies, Including Familiarity With Integrated Library Systems And Digital Resources.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Colleagues And Provide Exceptional Customer Service.
Demonstrated Knowledge Of Current Trends And Issues In Librarianship, Such As Information Literacy, Open Access, And Diversity And Inclusion In Library Services.
