  1. Maintain and upkeep the grounds and landscapes of state properties.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding.
  3. Monitor and identify plant diseases and pests, and take appropriate action.
  4. Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools.
  5. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed while operating equipment and working on the grounds.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Communicate with supervisors and team members about any issues or concerns with the grounds.
  8. Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and on time.
  9. Keep track of inventory and request supplies as needed.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to all visitors and employees.
  11. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute landscaping projects.
  12. Train and supervise new team members as needed.
  13. Attend training sessions and keep up-to-date with industry best practices.
  14. Continuously look for ways to improve the appearance and functionality of the grounds.
  15. Represent the State of Louisiana in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Grounds Maintenance Technician Job At State Of Louisiana Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Important Skills Such As Reading, Writing, And Math.

  • Relevant Experience: Applicants Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Grounds Maintenance, Landscaping, Or A Related Field. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Various Equipment And Tools Used For Maintaining Outdoor Spaces, As Well As General Knowledge Of Plant Care And Maintenance.

  • Physical Fitness: Grounds Maintenance Technicians Are Required To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment, Bending, Kneeling, And Standing For Extended Periods Of Time. Applicants Should Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: Grounds Maintenance Technicians Are Responsible For Operating And Maintaining Various Equipment And Tools, Which Can Be Dangerous If Not Used Properly. Applicants Should Have Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Be Able To Follow Them To Ensure A Safe Work Environment.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Job As It May Involve Driving State Vehicles To Different Job Sites. Applicants Should Have A Clean Driving Record And Be Able To Operate Various Types Of Vehicles, Including Trucks And Lawn Mowers.
