  1. Oversee and support the child welfare system in the state of Louisiana.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect and support children in need.
  3. Collaborate with child welfare agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to improve the child welfare system.
  4. Ensure compliance with child welfare laws and regulations.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child welfare programs.
  6. Provide guidance and support to child welfare agencies and staff.
  7. Conduct trainings and workshops to educate stakeholders on child welfare policies and procedures.
  8. Advocate for the rights and well-being of children in the child welfare system.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child welfare laws, regulations, and best practices.
  10. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  11. Communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, including children and families.
  12. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate services for children and families.
  13. Participate in meetings and committees related to child welfare.
  14. Assist in the development and management of budgets related to child welfare.
  15. Represent the state of Louisiana in state and national conferences and events related to child welfare.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Child Welfare, Preferably In A Consulting Or Leadership Role.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Child Welfare.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Effective Strategies For Improving Child Welfare Services.
