- Develop and implement strategic plans to procure and manage telecommunications and network services for the state of Illinois.
- Monitor and evaluate current telecommunications and network systems to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with various departments and agencies to assess their telecommunications and network needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with service providers to ensure the best value and quality for the state.
- Conduct regular market research and stay updated on industry trends to inform decision-making.
- Manage and oversee the budget for telecommunications and network services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to telecommunications and network services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with service providers and vendors to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Lead and mentor a team of telecommunications and network professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure high-quality services are delivered to the state and its residents.
- Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in the field of telecommunications and network management, and provide recommendations for their implementation.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and gather feedback on services.
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders as needed.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that values teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by senior management.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Telecommunications And Network Management, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Industry Trends And Technologies, Including Experience With Implementing And Managing Wireless, Voip, And Data Networks.
Proven Experience In Contract Negotiation, Vendor Management, And Budget Management.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Internal And External Stakeholders.
