- Act as a liaison between the administration and the media, responding to inquiries and coordinating interviews and statements.

- Monitor media coverage and provide regular updates and reports to the administration on public perception, emerging issues, and potential crisis situations.
- Prepare the administration for press conferences, interviews, and other media appearances, providing talking points and messaging guidance.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure consistent messaging and accurate information is being communicated to the public.
- Serve as a resource for other government officials and staff, providing guidance on media relations and communication strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on current events and policies to effectively address questions and concerns from the media and the public.
- Uphold a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all communications and interactions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve communication strategies and practices to effectively engage with the public and promote transparency in government operations.
- Represent the administration at public events, speaking engagements, and other functions as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Or Related Field.
Previous Experience In Media Relations, Public Relations, Or Journalism.
Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills.
Knowledge Of Government Policies And Procedures, Specifically Within The State Of Illinois.
