  1. Develop and implement fire prevention and safety protocols for permanently moored craft in the State of Illinois.
  2. Conduct thorough inspections of permanently moored craft to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  3. Collaborate with relevant agencies and organizations to promote and enforce fire safety standards.
  4. Conduct training sessions and workshops for permanent moored craft owners and operators on fire prevention and safety measures.
  5. Investigate and analyze fire incidents on permanently moored craft, and make recommendations for improvements to prevent future incidents.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry developments, trends, and best practices related to fire prevention and safety on permanently moored craft.
  7. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all fire prevention and safety activities.
  8. Respond to emergency situations and provide support and guidance to first responders and other relevant personnel.
  9. Communicate with stakeholders, including permanent moored craft owners, operators, and community members, to educate and raise awareness about fire safety.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the fire safety team to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to promote safety and prevent fires in the State of Illinois.
  11. Represent the State of Illinois at conferences, meetings, and other events related to fire prevention and safety.
  12. Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures related to fire safety on permanently moored craft.
  13. Provide recommendations for budget and resource allocation to support fire prevention and safety efforts.
  14. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in all job duties.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve fire prevention and safety programs and initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Fire Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Fire Prevention And Safety, Preferably In The Maritime Industry.

  • Certification As A Fire Protection Specialist Or Fire Inspector From A Recognized Organization.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Fire Safety On Permanently Moored Craft.

  • Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills, With The Ability To Train And Educate Others On Fire Prevention And Safety Practices.
