- Process payroll for all state employees accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and policies related to payroll processing.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salary, taxes, deductions, and benefits.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to gather and verify employee information for payroll processing.
- Calculate and process payroll adjustments, such as overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Monitor and resolve any discrepancies or errors in payroll data.
- Generate and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll data.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
- Continuously improve and streamline payroll processes.
- Train and mentor new team members on payroll procedures.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
