1. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles in the preparation and analysis of financial statements for the State of Illinois.
2. Review and analyze financial data, transactions, and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in financial records.
4. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of all financial activities in accordance with GAAP.
5. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
6. Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
7. Keep up-to-date with changes in GAAP regulations and standards and make recommendations for any necessary changes to financial processes and procedures.
8. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial reports.
9. Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monitor budgetary performance throughout the year.
10. Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary information and support for the annual audit.
11. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
12. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
13. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with GAAP principles and best practices.
14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
