As an integral part of our Office of Executive Inspector General, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal field and play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of state government operations.   1. Conduct legal research and analysis under the guidance of the Executive Inspector General and other attorneys in the office.
  2. Assist in drafting legal documents, including complaints, memoranda, and reports.
  3. Participate in investigations and reviews of alleged misconduct or violations of state ethics laws.
  4. Attend meetings and interviews with government officials, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to gather evidence and build cases against individuals or entities engaged in unethical or unlawful behavior.
  6. Help prepare for administrative and legal proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote ethical conduct and prevent misconduct in state government.
  9. Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to government ethics and accountability.
  10. Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed.
  11. Communicate effectively with colleagues, superiors, and external parties in a professional and respectful manner.
  12. Uphold the values and mission of the Office of Executive Inspector General in all interactions and work product.
  13. Adhere to strict confidentiality and ethical standards while handling sensitive information.

Job Qualifications
  • Law School Enrollment Or Completion: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Currently Enrolled In An Accredited Law School Or Have Recently Graduated From One.

  • Strong Academic Performance: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Academic Background With Excellent Grades And A High Gpa.

  • Legal Research And Writing Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Legal Research And Writing Skills, As This Position Will Involve Conducting Legal Research And Preparing Legal Documents.

  • Knowledge Of Government And Administrative Law: Familiarity With Government And Administrative Law Is Preferred, As The Executive Inspector General Deals With Investigations And Enforcement Actions Related To Government Agencies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Have Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, As Well As The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment And Interact With A Diverse Range Of Individuals.
