Job Description

  1. Monitor and maintain the security and safety of the facility at all times.
  2. Supervise and interact with inmates in a professional and respectful manner.
  3. Conduct routine checks of inmates, cells, and common areas to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  4. Respond to emergency situations and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of staff and inmates.
  5. Enforce facility rules and regulations, and report any violations to superiors.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and inmate behavior.
  7. Assist in the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates through programming and counseling.
  8. Maintain a professional and impartial attitude at all times.
  9. Complete training program and pass all required exams to become a certified Correctional Officer.
  10. Continuously monitor and evaluate the physical and mental well-being of inmates.
  11. Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  12. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
  13. Uphold and promote the values and mission of the State of Illinois.
  14. Maintain personal fitness and health to perform job duties effectively.
  15. Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Academic Competency And The Ability To Follow Instructions.
