Job Description

Welcome to the Illinois Department of Corrections, where we are committed to providing safe and secure facilities for offenders while also promoting their successful reentry into society. We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Corrections Clerk II at the Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna, Illinois. As a Clerk II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inmate records and providing administrative support to our corrections staff.   1. Maintain and update accurate inmate records in compliance with department policies and procedures.
  2. Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Communicate effectively with corrections staff, inmates, and outside agencies regarding inmate records and other administrative matters.
  4. Provide administrative support to corrections staff, including scheduling appointments, filing documents, and responding to inquiries.
  5. Ensure confidentiality and security of all inmate records and sensitive information.
  6. Monitor and report any discrepancies or errors in inmate records.
  7. Assist in the preparation of reports and other documents as needed.
  8. Collaborate with other clerical staff to ensure efficient and effective operations within the department.
  9. Stay updated on department policies and procedures, as well as any changes in laws and regulations related to inmate records.
  10. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with inmates, staff, and the public.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the handling of confidential information and materials.
  12. Act as a liaison between the department and external agencies, providing accurate and timely information as needed.
  13. Attend training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Clerical Work, Preferably In A Correctional Or Law Enforcement Setting
