  1. Supervise and monitor inmates to ensure safety and security within the correctional facility.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of cells, common areas, and other facilities to maintain order and detect any potential security threats.
  3. Enforce rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain discipline and control among inmates.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of inmate activities, incidents, and behavior.
  5. Conduct searches and confiscate contraband items to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  6. Collaborate with other correctional staff to develop and implement rehabilitation programs for inmates.
  7. Provide support and assistance to inmates in areas such as education, vocational training, and mental health.
  8. Attend and participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of correctional procedures.
  9. Respond to emergency situations and take necessary actions to ensure the safety of staff and inmates.
  10. Communicate effectively with inmates, colleagues, and superiors to promote a positive and professional work environment.
  11. Adhere to and uphold the department's code of ethics and professional standards.
  12. Continuously monitor and assess potential security risks and take appropriate action to prevent any breaches.
  13. Serve as a role model and mentor for inmates, encouraging positive behavior and attitudes.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to promoting public safety and rehabilitation through the fair and just treatment of inmates.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Candidate Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Position.

  • U.s. Citizenship: The Candidate Must Be A U.s. Citizen Or Have Legal Authorization To Work In The United States.

  • Physical Fitness: The Candidate Must Meet The Physical Fitness Requirements For The Position, Including Passing A Physical Agility Test And Medical Examination.

  • No Felony Convictions: Candidates Must Have A Clean Criminal Record And Cannot Have Any Felony Convictions.

  • Completion Of A Correctional Officer Training Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed A State-Approved Correctional Officer Training Program Or Be Able To Complete One Within A Specified Timeframe.
