High School Diploma Or Equivalent: All Applicants Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Role Of A Correctional Officer Trainee At State Of Illinois.
U.s. Citizenship: Applicants Must Be A Citizen Of The United States To Be Eligible For The Position. This Is A Requirement Set By The State Of Illinois Department Of Corrections.
Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Position, As Correctional Officers May Be Required To Transport Inmates Or Travel To Different Facilities.
No Criminal Record: Applicants Must Undergo A Thorough Background Check And Must Have No Felony Convictions Or Any Other Criminal Record That Could Disqualify Them From The Position.
Physical And Mental Fitness: Being A Correctional Officer Can Be Physically And Mentally Demanding. Applicants Must Be In Good Physical And Mental Health To Perform The Duties Of The Job, Which May Include Standing For Long Periods, Working In Confined Spaces, And Handling Potentially Dangerous Situations.
