  1. Conduct regular surveys and inspections of state-owned conservation and historic preservation sites to assess their condition and identify any potential issues or areas of improvement.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for the preservation and maintenance of natural and historical resources, including but not limited to forests, wetlands, parks, and historical buildings.
  3. Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute conservation and preservation projects, such as habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and historical site renovations.
  4. Communicate with the public, stakeholders, and other agencies to promote the importance of conservation and historic preservation and educate them on best practices for protecting these resources.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all conservation and preservation activities, including project plans, progress reports, and budget expenditures.
  6. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary for conservation and preservation work, ensuring they are in good working condition and adhering to safety protocols.
  7. Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and seasonal workers to assist with conservation and preservation projects.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current conservation and preservation practices, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and inform decision-making.
  9. Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term conservation and preservation plans and goals for the state.
  10. Participate in emergency response efforts, such as natural disasters or environmental hazards, to protect and restore state-owned conservation and historic preservation sites.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Historic Preservation, Conservation, Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Historic Preservation Laws And Regulations.

  • Experience With Conservation And Restoration Techniques For Historic Buildings And Structures.

  • Ability To Conduct Historical Research And Write Reports On Historic Properties.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Working With Property Owners, Government Officials, And Community Members.
