
CONSERVATION/HISTORIC PRESERVATION WORKER

- Implement Conservation/Historic Preservation Plans: The Conservation/Historic Preservation Worker will be responsible for carrying out state-approved plans and strategies for conservation and historic preservation projects. This includes conducting research, identifying areas of significance, and developing conservation and preservation plans.
- Conduct Surveys and Assessments: The worker will conduct surveys and assessments of natural and cultural resources within the state of Illinois. This will involve collecting data, analyzing information, and making recommendations for preservation and protection.
- Maintain and Monitor Conservation Areas: The worker will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring designated conservation areas, including natural habitats and historic sites. This includes performing regular inspections, identifying potential threats, and taking necessary measures to ensure the preservation of these areas.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: The Conservation/Historic Preservation Worker will work closely with various stakeholders, such as government agencies, organizations, and community groups, to coordinate conservation and preservation efforts. This may involve attending meetings, providing updates, and seeking input from stakeholders.
- Educate and Raise Awareness: Another important responsibility of the worker is to educate the public about the importance of conservation and historic preservation. This may involve developing educational materials, organizing events, and conducting presentations to raise awareness and promote engagement.
- Assist with Restoration and Maintenance: The worker will assist with restoration and maintenance projects for historic sites and natural areas. This may include physical labor, such as repairing and maintaining structures, as well as administrative tasks, such as managing budgets and procurement.
- Ensure Compliance: The worker will ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to conservation and historic preservation. This includes obtaining necessary permits, following safety protocols, and adhering to ethical standards.
- Document and Report: The worker will be responsible for documenting all conservation and preservation activities and providing regular reports to supervisors and stakeholders. This may include preparing written reports, maintaining records, and utilizing data management systems.
- Stay Current on Trends and Best Practices: The Conservation/Histor
Bachelor's Degree In Historic Preservation, Conservation, Architecture, Or A Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In The Field Of Conservation Or Historic Preservation.
Knowledge Of Local And State Historic Preservation Laws And Regulations.
Experience With Architectural Surveys, Documentation, And Preservation Planning.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work With Stakeholders, Community Members, And Government Officials.
