  1. Develop and implement an effective accountability system for the State of Illinois to promote transparency and efficiency in government operations.
  2. Monitor and evaluate government programs and processes to ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations.
  3. Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress of government initiatives and projects.
  4. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective action.
  5. Collaborate with government agencies and departments to promote a culture of accountability and transparency.
  6. Provide guidance and training to government employees on accountability best practices and procedures.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accountability measures and outcomes.
  8. Communicate results of accountability efforts to stakeholders, including government officials, the public, and external auditors.
  9. Develop strategies and initiatives to continuously improve the accountability system and promote a culture of accountability within the government.
  10. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to accountability and ensure compliance within the government.
  11. Lead and manage a team of accountability professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  12. Collaborate with other government leaders to identify and address systemic issues and challenges related to accountability.
  13. Serve as a point of contact for accountability-related inquiries and concerns from the public and external stakeholders.
  14. Represent the State of Illinois at conferences, meetings, and other events related to accountability and transparency in government.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the accountability system to ensure it meets the needs of the government and the public.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In A Leadership Role In Financial Management Or Accounting

  • Strong Understanding Of Government Accounting Principles And Procedures

  • Experience With Budget Development And Management

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Various Departments And Stakeholders.
