  1. Oversee the appeals process and ensure that all decisions are made in compliance with state laws and regulations.
  2. Provide guidance and direction to staff members within the Appeals Division.
  3. Review and analyze appeal cases to ensure fairness and justice.
  4. Develop and implement procedures and policies for the appeals process.
  5. Conduct training for staff members on relevant laws, regulations, and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to resolve complex appeal cases.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the Appeals Division and external stakeholders, such as attorneys and advocates.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff members within the Appeals Division.
  9. Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Ensure that all appeal cases are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation of appeal cases.
  12. Investigate and address any complaints or concerns related to the appeals process.
  13. Develop and maintain relationships with other state agencies and organizations to improve the appeals process.
  14. Represent the Appeals Division in meetings, conferences, and other events.
  15. Uphold the principles of due process and promote fairness and justice in all aspects of the appeals process.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Law Or A Related Field, With A Strong Understanding Of Legal Principles And Procedures.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Legal Or Appeals Division, Preferably Within A Government Agency.

  • Experience In Managing And Supervising A Team Of Appeals Professionals, Including Training, Performance Evaluations, And Workflow Management.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Present Complex Legal Arguments In A Clear And Concise Manner.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Appeals Processes And Procedures, Including Experience With Legal Research And Drafting Legal Documents.
