Job Description

  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to promote a safe and healthy work environment for employees and the public.
  2. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
  3. Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
  4. Investigate and report on accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  5. Collaborate with departmental managers and employees to identify and address potential safety concerns.
  6. Stay current on relevant safety regulations and standards to ensure compliance and make necessary updates to policies and procedures.
  7. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to minimize potential hazards.
  8. Communicate safety requirements and expectations to employees and ensure understanding and compliance.
  9. Work closely with human resources to develop and implement emergency response and evacuation plans.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety training, inspections, and incidents.
  11. Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to stay informed on industry best practices and participate in safety-related committees and events.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Safety And Health, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Occupational Safety, Preferably In A Government Setting.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal And State Safety Regulations, Including Osha And Nfpa Standards.

  • Certification In Occupational Health And Safety (Cohs) Or Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Is Preferred.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Conduct Trainings And Effectively Communicate Safety Policies And Procedures To Employees At All Levels.
