Job Description

  1. Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals and the community in the Kona region.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective health promotion and disease prevention programs.
  3. Conduct thorough and accurate assessments of patients' health status and develop individualized care plans.
  4. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and procedures.
  5. Monitor and evaluate patients' response to treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
  6. Educate patients and their families on health and wellness practices, disease management, and medication management.
  7. Participate in community outreach and education programs to promote public health and raise awareness of available resources.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  9. Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as ethical and professional standards.
  10. Continuously enhance and update nursing skills and knowledge through ongoing education and training opportunities.
  11. Serve as a positive role model for other team members and promote a positive work environment.
  12. Act as an advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs and rights are met.
  13. Collaborate with local health agencies and organizations to develop and implement coordinated care plans.
  14. Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities as needed.
  15. Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols.
  16. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to cultural competency and sensitivity in all interactions with patients and their families.
  18. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  19. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  20. Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of the State of Hawaii and the Public Health division in all job duties and interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Hawaii.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Rn In A Public Health Setting.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Public Health And Healthcare.

  • Strong Communication, Organization, And Leadership Skills.
