Welcome to the State of Hawaii's Human Resources team! We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic department. As the first point of contact for employees and applicants, this role plays a crucial part in supporting our HR operations and ensuring the success of our workforce.   1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee and applicant inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and promptly addressing any concerns or questions.
  2. Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process by scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and preparing new hire paperwork.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  4. Help create and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and fairness across all departments.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate employee training and development programs.
  6. Support the performance evaluation process by tracking deadlines, collecting and organizing feedback, and maintaining records.
  7. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  8. Collaborate with other HR team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  9. Conduct research and analysis on HR best practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  11. Provide general administrative support to the HR department, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining supplies.
  12. Stay up-to-date on labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR activities.
  13. Act as a positive ambassador for the State of Hawaii and the HR department, promoting a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes and procedures.
  15. Participate in special projects and tasks as assigned by HR management.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Hr Support Role, Preferably In A Government Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Hawaii's Labor Laws And Regulations.

  • Proficient In Microsoft Office And Hris Software.
