Medical Degree: A Forensic Pathologist Must Have Completed A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Residency Training In Anatomic And Clinical Pathology: Candidates For A Forensic Pathologist Position Should Have Completed A Residency Program In Both Anatomic Pathology (Diagnosis Of Disease Through Examination Of Tissue Samples) And Clinical Pathology (Laboratory Testing Of Bodily Fluids And Tissues) From An Accredited Institution.
Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Anatomic Pathology And Clinical Pathology By The American Board Of Pathology (Abp).
Fellowship In Forensic Pathology: A Fellowship In Forensic Pathology From An Accredited Institution Is Required For This Position. This Training Provides Specialized Education And Experience In The Investigation Of Deaths And The Performance Of Autopsies.
State Licensure: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Medical License In The State Of Hawaii, Or Be Eligible For Licensure In The State. This Involves Passing The United States Medical Licensing Examination (Usmle) And Meeting Other State-Specific Requirements.
