- Investigate and respond to complaints and reports of food safety violations.
- Collaborate with other government agencies and stakeholders to develop and implement food safety policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of updates and changes to food safety regulations and ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to food service establishments and food handlers on proper food safety practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, violations, and corrective actions taken.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the food supply chain.
- Participate in emergency response efforts related to food safety incidents.
- Communicate and educate the public on food safety issues and best practices.
- Advise businesses on proper labeling, handling, and storage of food products.
- Recommend and implement improvements to food safety programs and procedures.
- Investigate outbreaks of foodborne illnesses and take appropriate actions to prevent further spread.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of food safety programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Represent the state in legal proceedings related to food safety violations.
Bachelor's Degree In Food Science, Nutrition, Or A Related Field.
Certification In Food Safety, Such As Servsafe Or Haccp.
At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Food Safety And Sanitation In A Regulatory Or Industry Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Food Safety Regulations And Guidelines.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Train And Educate Others On Food Safety Practices.
