Job Description

Look no further, as the State of Hawaii is seeking a dedicated Chief Liquor Control Investigator to join our team. As the top law enforcement officer in our Liquor Control Division, you will play a crucial role in regulating and enforcing liquor laws throughout the state. We are seeking a detail-oriented and effective leader with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of investigative techniques.   1. Lead and oversee all investigative activities within the Liquor Control Division of the State of Hawaii.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to effectively regulate and enforce liquor laws throughout the state.
  3. Conduct thorough and efficient investigations into potential violations of liquor laws, including conducting interviews, gathering evidence, and making recommendations for enforcement actions.
  4. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to promote responsible alcohol consumption and ensure public safety.
  5. Analyze and interpret laws, rules, and regulations related to the sale and distribution of alcohol, and stay up-to-date on any changes or updates.
  6. Train and mentor other investigators within the division, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their duties.
  7. Prepare and present reports on investigation findings and recommendations to higher-level officials and regulatory boards.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all investigations and enforcement actions.
  9. Communicate and coordinate with state and local government officials, as well as members of the public, to address concerns and answer questions related to liquor laws and regulations.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve investigative processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Serve as a role model for ethical and professional behavior within the division and the community.
  12. Stay informed of current trends and best practices in law enforcement and investigative techniques, and apply this knowledge to the role.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Law Enforcement, Preferably In An Investigative Role.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws Related To Liquor Control And Enforcement.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Effectively Working With Various Stakeholders, Including Law Enforcement Agencies, Government Officials, And The Public.

  • Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Investigators And Organize And Prioritize Multiple Investigations Simultaneously.
