  1. Perform regular and preventative maintenance tasks on various systems and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components.
  2. Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  3. Conduct routine inspections of state buildings to identify potential maintenance needs and address them proactively.
  4. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services as needed.
  8. Communicate with building occupants and address their concerns or requests for maintenance in a professional and timely manner.
  9. Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and optimize maintenance processes and procedures.
  11. Adhere to department policies and procedures at all times.
  12. Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Building Maintenance Worker At State Of Hawaii Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures Basic Reading, Writing, And Math Skills Necessary For Carrying Out Job Responsibilities.

  • Previous Experience In Building Maintenance: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Building Maintenance, Preferably In A Commercial Or Government Setting. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Plumbing, Electrical, And Hvac Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: Building Maintenance Workers At State Of Hawaii Must Have Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Practices To Ensure The Safety Of Themselves And Others While Performing Maintenance Tasks. This Includes Knowledge Of Osha Regulations And Proper Handling Of Hazardous Materials.
