Job Description

As an Assistant Operator, you will work alongside experienced professionals and receive on-the-job training to become a certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.   1. Assist in the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, including monitoring and adjusting treatment processes, collecting and analyzing samples, and maintaining equipment.
  2. Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  3. Receive on-the-job training from experienced professionals to become a certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
  4. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the treatment process.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of plant operations, including daily logs, maintenance reports, and sample results.
  6. Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on plant equipment to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  7. Assist in conducting regular inspections and maintenance of the plant and its grounds to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and technological advancements in wastewater treatment to continuously improve plant operations.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members, superiors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the plant.
  10. Uphold the values and mission of the State of Hawaii in protecting the environment and ensuring clean water for future generations.
