The State of Hawaii is seeking an experienced Agricultural Loan Officer VI to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the lending activities of the Department of Agriculture's Farm Loan Program.   1. Manage and oversee the lending activities of the Department of Agriculture's Farm Loan Program.
  2. Review and analyze loan applications to determine eligibility and risk assessment.
  3. Provide guidance and advice to farmers on financing options and loan programs.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective and efficient loan processing.
  5. Monitor loan portfolios and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to promote and sustain Hawaii's agricultural industry.
  7. Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess the financial viability of farms.
  8. Review and update loan policies and procedures as needed.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with farmers, lenders, and other stakeholders in the agriculture industry.
  10. Participate in outreach and educational programs to increase awareness of the Farm Loan Program.
  11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
  12. Represent the Department of Agriculture at meetings, conferences, and events.
  13. Prepare reports and presentations on loan activity and program effectiveness.
  14. Train and mentor junior loan officers.
  15. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Agricultural Economics, Finance, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 8 Years Of Experience In Agricultural Lending, Preferably In A Supervisory Role.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Agricultural Industry Regulations, Policies, And Loan Programs.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Building And Maintaining Relationships With Farmers And Ranchers.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills With The Ability To Assess Credit Risk And Make Sound Lending Decisions.
