- Conduct comprehensive audits of the State of Colorado's legislative IT systems and processes to identify any potential vulnerabilities or weaknesses.
- Develop and implement audit plans and procedures to ensure accurate and thorough assessments of IT systems.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and potential areas of concern.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including legislative officials and IT staff.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions taken to address identified vulnerabilities.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve audit processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with other members of the IT team to ensure the integration of IT security and risk management into all legislative processes.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to legislative IT systems.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members on IT audit techniques and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of audit findings and recommendations.
- Act as a liaison between the legislative IT team and external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of IT audit processes and procedures.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to IT security and risk management as needed.

Extensive Experience In It Auditing: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In It Auditing, Preferably In A Legislative Or Government Setting. They Should Be Well-Versed In Auditing Methodologies, Risk Assessment, And Information Security Principles.
Knowledge Of Legislative Processes And Regulations: A Senior Legislative It Auditor Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Legislative Process And The Relevant Regulations And Policies Governing It. This Knowledge Is Crucial In Conducting Audits And Making Recommendations For Compliance.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires A Candidate Who Can Think Critically And Identify Potential Risks And Vulnerabilities In It Systems. They Should Also Possess The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Provide Actionable Insights And Recommendations To Improve It Processes And Controls.
