- Provide academic advising and support to students in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students to understand their academic goals and provide personalized guidance.
- Assist students in navigating degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning.
- Stay up-to-date on university policies, academic programs, and resources to effectively advise students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students have access to all necessary resources and support services.
- Organize and conduct workshops, presentations, and events to educate students on academic success strategies.
- Use data and student feedback to continuously improve advising services and programs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of academic advising.
- Mentor and train junior academic advisors to ensure consistency and quality in advising services.
- Serve as a liaison between students and other university departments to resolve any academic issues or concerns.
- Monitor and track students' progress towards their academic goals and intervene when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and advising sessions.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Collaborate with other senior academic advisors to develop and implement best practices for advising.
- Represent the university at recruiting events and assist with the enrollment process for new students.
Master's Degree Or Higher In Counseling, Education, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Academic Advising At The College Or University Level.
Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Higher Education.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Diverse Student Populations.
Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Academic Advising Programs And Initiatives.
