Job Description

  1. Process Employee Payroll: The main responsibility of the Payroll Analyst will be to accurately and timely process employee payroll for the State of Colorado. This includes calculating wages, deductions, and overtime, and ensuring all payroll data is entered correctly.
  2. Ensure Compliance with Employment Laws and Regulations: The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for staying up-to-date with all federal and state employment laws and regulations and ensuring that the payroll process is compliant with these laws.
  3. Analyze and Verify Data: The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and verifying all payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness. This includes reviewing timesheets, employee information, and tax withholding forms.
  4. Address Payroll Inquiries and Issues: The Payroll Analyst will be the main point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries and issues. They will need to provide timely and accurate responses to employees and address any concerns or discrepancies in payroll.
  5. Maintain Employee Records: The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate and updated employee records, including tax information, direct deposit information, and benefits deductions.
  6. Collaborate with HR and Finance Departments: The Payroll Analyst will work closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination between departments, as well as to resolve any payroll-related discrepancies.
  7. Generate Reports: The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for generating various payroll reports, such as payroll summaries, tax reports, and employee earnings reports. These reports will be used for internal record-keeping and external audits.
  8. Stay Current with Payroll Technology: The Payroll Analyst will need to stay current with payroll software and technology to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing. They may also be responsible for training other staff members on new software and processes.
  9. Maintain Confidentiality: The Payroll Analyst will handle sensitive employee information and must maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data protection laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
