Job Description

The State of Colorado is seeking a Manager of Circulation and User Services to oversee the circulation of materials and user services at our state libraries. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance the experience of library patrons across the state, while managing a team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in library services and management, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.   1. Oversee the circulation of materials at state libraries, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of resources to patrons.
  2. Manage a team of library professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure a high level of performance.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the user experience at state libraries, including implementing new technologies and services.
  4. Monitor and analyze circulation data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving circulation processes and services.
  5. Collaborate with other library departments and stakeholders to coordinate and promote statewide library initiatives and programs.
  6. Ensure compliance with library policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  7. Maintain a high level of customer service by responding to patron inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns.
  8. Develop and manage the circulation budget, including forecasting and allocating resources appropriately.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in library services and user experience, and incorporate them into daily operations.
  10. Act as a representative of the state libraries, promoting the value of libraries and advocating for their importance in the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library Science Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Library Circulation Or User Services Role

  • Strong Knowledge Of Library Systems And Software, Including Circulation And Cataloging Systems

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills And Experience Managing A Team

  • Familiarity With State And Federal Library Laws And Regulations, Including Copyright And Privacy Laws.
