Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Accessibility Services to lead our efforts in ensuring that all individuals have equal opportunities to fully participate in our programs and services. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement policies and initiatives that promote accessibility and diversity within our organization. To be successful, you must have a deep understanding of disability laws and regulations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all.   1. Develop and implement policies and initiatives that promote accessibility and diversity within the organization.
  2. Ensure compliance with all disability laws and regulations at the state and federal level.
  3. Lead efforts to create an inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities within the organization.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to ensure equal access and opportunities for individuals with disabilities in all programs and services.
  5. Develop and maintain partnerships with disability advocacy organizations and community resources.
  6. Provide guidance and training to staff on disability awareness and accommodations.
  7. Develop and oversee the budget for accessibility services.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of accessibility programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  9. Stay informed on current trends and best practices in disability services and make recommendations for implementation.
  10. Represent the organization at conferences, events, and meetings related to disability services.
  11. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, including individuals with disabilities, families, and other organizations, to identify and address accessibility needs.
  12. Work with the human resources department to ensure equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities in employment.
  13. Act as a resource for employees and individuals with disabilities on accessibility and accommodation issues.
  14. Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies and officials to advocate for disability rights and accessibility.
  15. Lead and supervise a team of accessibility specialists and support staff.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within The Field Of Accessibility Services, Preferably In A Government Or Academic Setting.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Accessibility, Including The Americans With Disabilities Act (Ada) And Section 508 Of The Rehabilitation Act.

  • Strong Understanding Of Disability Advocacy And The Needs Of Individuals With Disabilities, As Well As Experience Working With Diverse Populations And Promoting Inclusivity And Accessibility.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Such As Government Agencies, Educational Institutions, And Community Organizations.

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Disability Studies, Special Education, Or Public Policy. A Relevant Professional Certification, Such As Certified Professional In Accessibility Core Competencies (Cpacc) Or Certified Professional In Web Accessibility (Cpwa), Is Also Preferred.
