Job Description

To monitor, investigate, and control epidemic and communicable diseases affecting the public health in Colorado, as required under Colorado statute, including enteric diseases, invasive bacterial diseases, respiratory diseases, vaccine preventable diseases. This position exists to oversee COVID-specific response activities such as case investigation, contact tracing, outbreak management and consultation, and provide technical assistance to local public health communicable disease staff; supervise staff in the COVID surveillance unit (direct supervision of 5-7 temporary epidemiologists).

Job Qualifications
  • Three years of full- time professional experience in surveillance and epidemiology

  • Ability to determine objectives and strategies; set priorities; coordinate with others.

  • Experience in communicable disease surveillance.
