
Community Engagement Specialist

- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to promote inclusivity and collaboration within diverse communities in the State of Colorado.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to facilitate open communication and promote community involvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the state government and its citizens, addressing community concerns and advocating for their needs.
- Plan and coordinate community events, forums, and workshops to foster dialogue and engagement between citizens and government officials.
- Conduct research and gather data to gain a better understanding of the needs and concerns of different communities within the state.
- Collaborate with various government departments and agencies to ensure community engagement efforts align with overall state goals and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain communication channels, such as social media platforms and newsletters, to effectively reach and engage with community members.
- Provide guidance and support to government officials and staff on best practices for engaging and working with diverse communities.
- Stay updated on local, state, and national issues affecting diverse communities and incorporate relevant information into community engagement strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
- Uphold the values of inclusivity, diversity, and equity in all aspects of the job and lead by example.
- Collaborate with other state agencies, non-profit organizations, and community partners to leverage resources and maximize impact.
- Handle any community-related issues or conflicts in a professional and timely manner, ensuring the needs and concerns of all parties are addressed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on community engagement efforts and outcomes.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and innovate community engagement methods and approaches.
Bachelor’s Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Community Engagement, Preferably In A Government Or Non-Profit Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Community Outreach Strategies, Including Social Media And Event Planning.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Effectively Engage With Diverse Communities.
Knowledge Of Local And State Government Processes And Policies, As Well As Community Issues And Concerns In The State Of Colorado.
