Welcome to the State of Colorado! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and community-oriented individual to serve as our Campus Neighborhood Community Officer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the safety and well-being of our campus community. We are looking for a candidate who is dedicated, approachable, and has a passion for building strong relationships with our diverse student body.   1. Develop and implement community policing strategies to create a safe and inclusive environment for the campus community.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the campus community and local law enforcement agencies.
  3. Educate and engage students, faculty, and staff on campus safety and crime prevention.
  4. Conduct regular patrols of campus grounds and buildings to identify and address any potential safety hazards.
  5. Respond to and investigate reports of suspicious activity, crimes, and safety concerns.
  6. Build and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to foster a sense of trust and cooperation.
  7. Collaborate with campus organizations and community partners to promote safety and address any issues or concerns.
  8. Organize and participate in community events and initiatives to promote community policing and build relationships with students.
  9. Maintain thorough and accurate records of incidents and activities.
  10. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to campus safety and community policing.
  11. Report any safety concerns or issues to appropriate authorities and take necessary actions to address them.
  12. Serve as a resource and point of contact for members of the campus community seeking assistance or information related to safety and security.
  13. Represent the campus in meetings and discussions related to community safety and policing.
  14. Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and stay current on best practices in community policing.
  15. Embody the values and mission of the State of Colorado and the campus community in all interactions and responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Community Policing.

  • Must Possess A Valid Driver's License And Have A Clean Driving Record.

  • Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Engage With Residents, Students, And Other Campus Stakeholders.

  • Must Be Able To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With A Strong Commitment To Community-Oriented Policing.

  • Must Be Knowledgeable About State And Federal Laws, Policies, And Procedures Related To Campus Safety And Security.
