Job Description

  1. Ensure the safety and security of correctional facilities by overseeing the daily operations and enforcing rules and regulations.
  2. Supervise and manage a team of correctional officers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  3. Monitor and maintain custody and control of inmates, including conducting regular counts and inspections.
  4. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, making critical decisions to maintain order and safety.
  5. Conduct investigations and write reports on incidents, accidents, and rule violations.
  6. Communicate effectively with staff, inmates, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve conflicts.
  7. Serve as a role model and mentor for staff, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.
  8. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to correctional officers.
  9. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, policies, and procedures.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and training programs.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inmate activities, staff schedules, and incidents.
  12. Attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on industry best practices.
  13. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  14. Collaborate with other departments and agencies, such as medical and mental health services, to provide coordinated care for inmates.
  15. Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times, representing the department with integrity and respect.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Supervisory Experience In A Correctional Setting.
