1. Manage and oversee all aspects of grocery operations including inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stocking of products.
2. Train, develop, and supervise a team of grocery department employees to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
3. Monitor product quality and freshness to ensure all products meet company standards.
4. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure proper product placement and merchandising throughout the store.
5. Maintain accurate inventory levels and conduct regular audits to identify and address any discrepancies.
6. Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and meet department goals.
7. Create and maintain schedules for grocery department employees to ensure proper staffing levels.
8. Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations.
9. Communicate effectively with customers to address any concerns or questions and provide excellent customer service.
10. Continuously seek out new products and vendors to improve the variety and quality of products offered in the store.
11. Monitor and analyze industry trends, customer feedback, and sales data to make informed decisions about product selection and pricing.
12. Coordinate with the store manager to create and manage the grocery department budget.
13. Conduct regular performance evaluations for grocery department employees and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
14. Handle and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to the grocery department.
15. Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
