1. Oversee the daily operations of the dairy department, including but not limited to ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising of dairy products.
2. Ensure that the dairy department is always fully stocked with fresh, high-quality products.
3. Monitor inventory levels and make adjustments as needed to avoid overstock or shortages.
4. Maintain product freshness and quality by regularly rotating products, checking expiration dates, and properly handling and storing dairy items.
5. Train and supervise dairy department employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
6. Create and implement effective merchandising strategies to attract and retain customers.
7. Monitor sales and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, complaints, and special requests.
10. Act as a knowledgeable resource for customers and employees regarding dairy products, including ingredients, nutrition information, and cooking tips.
11. Collaborate with other department managers to plan and execute promotions and sales events.
12. Maintain a clean and organized dairy department, including regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment and work areas.
13. Monitor and control department expenses, including labor and inventory costs.
14. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market competition, and make recommendations for improvement.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
